Main Strategic Approaches:

Human rights-based approach: ADRF prioritizes a human rights-based approach in all its activities and interventions. This approach guides ADRF to blend the principles of non-discrimination, empowerment, participation, accountability, and legality. By integrating these principles into its work, ADRF ensures that the rights of marginalized communities, particularly Dalits & CDWD, are not only respected and protected but also promoted and nurtured, developed and fulfilled.

Intersectional approach: ADRF's intersectional approach ensures that its interventions address multiple forms of discrimination and disadvantage simultaneously due to the intersection of various social identities such as caste, gender, ethnicity, religion, disability, and others. While working with Dalits & CDWD communities, we will give due focus to the special needs of women, men, children, persons with disabilities (PWD), youth, aging individuals, and LGBTQI+ individuals.

Inter-disciplinary approach: While engaging in its empowerment and advocacy efforts, ADRF will consciously combine and integrate theory and praxis, research and action, analytic reflection and empirical involvement in order to make its interventions well-informed and evidence-based, efficient and effective, qualitative and standardized, credible and acceptable, impactful and sustainable.

Alliance building and networking: By building alliances and networks with like-minded organizations, civil society groups, human rights defenders, and other stakeholders, ADRF amplifies its advocacy efforts, shares resources and expertise, strengthens its collective impact, encourages collective sharing in outputs and outcomes and ensures the building up of a larger and effective civil society, thereby developing vibrant democracy.

Effective engagement with policy actors: ADRF engages with policy actors, including governments, political parties, international organizations, and policymakers at national, regional, and international levels. For this to happen in an effective and continuing manner, ADRF members and their staff will cultivate sustainable contacts and communications, keep abreast of the events and trends in policy circles, strengthen their potentials and capacities with the requisite knowledge and skills, review and sharpen their strategies and tactics based on their ongoing advocacy interventions and experiences.
